Ayurveda is often called the science of life. Ayurveda is also the original mind-body-spirit healing system dating back some 5,000 years. This lecture will cover the basic understanding of Ayurveda terminology, doshas and the five elements of nature.
Join Tresa Laferty, Certified Ayurveda Practitioner, Certified Panchakarma Technician and Professional NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medicinal Association) Member for this 3-hour class. Tresa will start by introducing you to what Ayurveda is and what it teaches as a concept of good health. We then move into the pancha mahabhuta or five element theory which helps set the stage for understanding all Ayurveda concepts.Tresa will relate all of this to the doshas where you learn about your nature (why you do the things you do) and your imbalances. A core teaching is how our health is impacted by these imbalances: diet, digestion and lifestyle.
