I recently inquired about the Chakra Balancing Session that Uma Bagadia offers and what exactly is the service about? Based on what I learned, I'm excited to have Uma offer her services with us one Saturday a month. Here is what I learned:
CN: By your definition, what are the chakras?
UB: The entire universe is made of vibrational energy that includes our body too. Long before modern technology and science, ancient cultures knew that all living things carried a life force(Prana) with them. They named the spinning and rotating centers of energy that move within us starting at the base of our spine and moving all the way up to the top of our head, the 7 chakras(Sanskrit word that means wheel), whose spacing matches with major endocrine system in our body and influence the functions of related organs:
1st Root Chakra. Located at the base of the spinal cord, the root chakra relates to feelings of protection, security, self-confidence, abundance, stability, and primal procreative urges.
2nd Sacral Chakra. Located above the pubic bone, below the navel, and governs issues regarding interpersonal relationships involving passion, sexuality, and creativity.
3rd Solar Plexus Chakra. Located in the area of the solar plexus, which is just above the navel, below the center breast bone. It regulates the feelings of self-esteem, self-respect, self-discipline, ambition, and courage.
4thHeart Chakra. Located at the heart center and governs our ability to unconditionally love and be loved.
5th Throat Chakra. Located in the area of the throat. It syncs the powers of our heart, our personal domain, our mind, our physical domain, and communication.
6th Third Eye Chakra. Located in between the eyebrows. It involves intuition, clairvoyance, imagination, mental abilities, reasoning abilities, and wisdom.
7th Crown Chakra. Located at the crown of the head., the crown chakra is the main hub of spirituality and how we connect with the Divine.
CN: What are the benefits of receiving a Chakra Balancing Session with you?
UB: Since these Chakras influence major glands and related organs, hence our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being. It's essential that our seven main chakras stay open, aligned, and fluid, because if there is a blockage, energy cannot flow. Chakra Balancing can help with: Stress and Anxiety Overall balance Digestion issues Communication Emotional balancing and grounding
CN: How do Essential Oils affect the Chakras?
UB: A Chakra Balancing Session with Essential Oils helps clear the mind, open the energy centers(chakras), balance body to a higher vibration, and rejuvenate person physically & mentally. The idea is to apply activating essential oils to energize sluggish chakra function or calming oils to quiet over-active ones. A combination of both activating and calming oils will tend to have an overall balancing and supportive benefit to the chakras.
CN: What will one experience during a 90 minute Chakra Balancing Session?
UB: During the session, I use energy work and essential oil blends along with affirmation, starting from 1st energy center (Root Chakra) and finishing with the 7th energy center (Crown Chakra).
CN: What is your background, especially in Essential Oils?
UB: I am the Founder of Aroma Wellness and a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist. I am very passionate and dedicated to create practical awareness towards the natural remedies using Essential Oils for Chakra Balancing and resolving most persistent problems of the human body, including stress.
I have 22+ years of experience in the US healthcare system, working as a Medical Technologist(MT-ASCP) for major hospital systems in Wisconsin. I accomplished my MBA studies from UW-Milwaukee and Masters in Genetics from India, with keen interest in teaching-learning, focused upon a key role of Aromatherapy as an alternative-holistic approach for cure of the recurrently growing day- to-day human health problems in the present stressful mechanized world.
