So many people dread a mercury retrograde, but they usually don't bother me. Maybe it's because I was born during a retrograde, so on some level, it feels natural to me. Or maybe it's because as a single mother of 5, I'm so used to my life being in disarray that I hardly notice the added chaos. LOL. Either way, I really try to embrace them for the gift that they are.
I can hear some of you asking "What freaking gift, Deborah? My life is a mess during retrogrades! I hate it and you're nuts!" I totally get it. Sometimes, mine is too. But when everything is running backwards, spinning out of control and turning upside down, it can give you a new perspective. When you look at this from another angle, you can make improvements that you may not have been able to even see before.
If you need a little help getting through this next few weeks of mishaps, miscommunications, madness and general mayhem, you could try some of these tips for "becoming one with a retrograde":
SLOW YOUR ROLL. Really be present in whatever it is that you are doing. If you stop rushing or hurrying, and you just slow down, you can minimize mistakes and save time in having to re-do things later.
CHECK IN. So often, we are kinda "checked out" and don't really notice what is happening around us. Retrogrades invite us to pay attention to every little detail so that loose ends don't head in an unfavorable direction.
BACK IT UP. This planetary alignment can ignite electronic glitches, so saving copies of all important files created during this next few weeks can help avoid file disasters.
CHECK YOURSELF, BEFORE YOU WRECK YOURSELF. If you feel like your emotions are pulling you in all kinds of directions, take a deep breathe and get centered before you react. Reacting poorly can set off a series of unfortunate events.
LISTEN WITH YOUR HEART. Misunderstandings happen so easily during a retrograde, so be patient with yourself and others. Remember that we are all working through issues of our own (even that random guy who cut you off on the highway). We've all got stuff. Love heals the stuff. So use it as often as you can.
