4 Reasons Why Morning Yoga is AMAZING!

I always have the best intentions, setting my alarm early to do a solo yoga practice or go for an early morning run before work. Then I end up hitting the snooze button until there isn't any time to work out. I now didn't get my workout in, and I feel guilty. With my morning practice at Haleybird Studios, I have a community of people that wake up with me. This motivates me to avoid the snooze and as soon as I am on my mat, I know I made the right decision.
#2 Starting your day with yoga is better than coffee, and better for you too!
I cannot tell you how many times I wake up sleepy and grab coffee even thought I gave up caffeine unsuccessfully for the 20th time. I find my initial coffee buzz wares off; I grab sweets, and another afternoon coffee. Waking up with yoga encourages me to drink water and connect with your body and breath. I find that my morning practice encourages me to make better decisions for the rest of the day.
#3 I only have to shower once! - Maybe TMI, but I am a busy lady!
I have to look presentable during the day in my business professional outfits, and when I have a night practice I shower two times a day, almost every day of the week. This not only takes more time, but it dries out my skin and, don't even get me started on my hair...
#4 A Yoga Morning = A Successful Day
Connecting with my breath and body first thing in the morning sets my day up for success. I feel more alert and centered, even when working in a stressful corporate environment. It helps me connect to myself and stay true to my intention for the rest of the day.
