Happy New Year! We are kicking off 2014 with some wonderful events at the Atrium, including Introduction to Animal Communication. Have you ever wondered what your dog, cat, or other family animals are trying to tell you? Join us this Saturday and find out!
We also have the opportunity for you to learn about Ayurveda and Buddhist meditation. We hope you will make the Atrium a part of your new year.
In this workshop you will learn how to communicate with animals. We will work with the animals that come to the workshop and with your animals at home by using photographs.
You will experience undeniable proof - through doing simple verifiable exercises working with animals you don't know - that intuitive communication is real and that you can do it. You will also learn techniques for talking to your own animals and finding out what they have to say to you.
Learn and explore techniques, gain confidence to talk with our animal companions and have fun!
In this class you will find out:
· What’s on your animal companions mind?
· How are they feeling physically?
· What do they like to eat?
· What do they like to do?
Cost: $100 ($50 non-refundable deposit, space is limited)
Register by calling 262-470-7076.
Hosted by Loret Bartol, Animal Communicator/Reiki Master and Michele Tegen, Reiki Master Teacher.
Discovering Your True Nature. Ayurveda is a very old system of healing that helps us discover our true nature. It is when we see ourselves through these ancient ways that our true nature and natural tendencies can be used to bring us back into a state of balance. Balance in our mind, our physical body and our spiritual practices.
The system of Ayurveda not only helps us understand these natural tendencies but teaches us to embrace them. Did you ever go on a “diet” that worked wonders for your friend and when you tried it, not only did you feel awful, but you actually gained weight? It wasn’t the right thing for your body. This class will help you see yourself through the eyes of the 5,000 year old system of healing called Ayurveda where we talk about “doshas.” You will discover your “dosha type” and learn simple ways to bring balance back into your life.
This class is facilitated by Tresa Laferty of Speak to the Earth who is an Ayurveda Health Counselor (intern), Medicinal Aromatherapist and Animal Communicator. She will share her learned knowledge on Ayurveda as well as blend in her passion for Medicinal Aromatherapy.
Be sure to check the calendar for the other two classes on Ayurveda: Tools of Healing and Food as Medicine.
Walking the Path of Loving-Kindness A Buddhist Perspective presented by Ngawang Thekchen
Are you ready to become more skillful living your values in 2014? What we may find difficult in daily life is to cultivate a sincere warm heartedness in the midst of loud divisiveness. We open our hearts when treated with sincere loving kindness. It is a universal medicine for emotional wounds and alienation.
Better yet, WE can become a locus of loving-kindness - a healing balm to those around us - if only we can develop it ourselves. What is loving kindness? What are its nuances? What is its flavor? Its scent? Its texture? Its song? How can I learn to sing it? Join us as we explore aspects of loving-kindness and think deeply about how to apply them in daily life.
Each session ends with a guided loving-kindness meditation. Ngawang Thekchen is an ordained monastic of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, and holds a PhD with a major in nursing and a minor in psychology. She has published in both professional and general journals. Thekchen teaches practical Buddhist approaches to life monthly here in the greater Milwaukee area.
