One of the neighborhood kids came over selling popcorn for Boy Scouts. My 9yo silently listened to the conversation about the order. I decided to go with the yellow popcorn for $10. She gasped quietly in the background. After the little boy left, she said, "I can't believe you did that! You just spent TEN DOLLARS on a tiny thing of POPCORN??? That's INSANE!"
I laughed a little and explained to her, "Yeah, I honey, I buy things like that to help the kids out. I know it's not a good deal, but it makes the kids who are selling them happy. I buy ridiculously overpriced Girl Scout cookies too."
She replied, "Yeah, but those are cookies. Cookies are worth it."
