Song lyrics convey different meanings to each person. Sometimes you can listen to a song and hear it as it’s meant and at other times in your life, the meaning changes. One song did that to me, “I’ll Stand By You” by The Pretenders.
While the song speaks of someone(s) living, it could also be for someone(s) not living. Hmmm… It’s a matter of perspective. You may easily get mad and sad, alone and confused, at someone you lost whether they’re currently living, in the depths of your past, in Heaven, or wherever else you know their soul/spirit and/or body went when they died.Feelings and emotions need expression! Holding them inside, hiding behind them, or using a poker face to reveal all is well don’t work very well. Whether you hit a pillow, scream, yell, cry, laugh, write, or talk to the person out loud, you need to let it go! Expression of emotions is healthy!
No one remains alone. People come and go in our lives whether physically, mentally, emotionally, and/or spiritually. Just because someone isn’t literally standing next to you doesn’t mean you aren’t being watched over or thought of. Someone, somewhere stands by you…especially when you least expect it or believe it happens.
