Every single thing in your future can be perfectly to your liking.
As you think about the future, you have a choice of thoughts. You can either imagine everything going wrong or everything going right. You can worry about things, and prepare for every wrong turn and mishap, or you can fill your mind with ease and enjoy imagining each turn you make and each decision flowing naturally through you, and working out beautifully.
If you think about it, really everything in your past has worked out beautifully, because if it hadn’t you couldn’t be here right now reading this message. Each “wrong turn” has led you to something that has at the very least allowed you to grow and expand in your thinking and wisdom. It has allowed in some way your life to expand, perhaps with new relationships or the deepening of love in existing relationships.
Here is the choice you are facing. Since you can’t possibly KNOW what is going to happen in any exact moment in your future, you might as well choose a peaceful thought about each of those moments. Since we know that each challenge you have faced in the past has led you to something greater, the choice is easy. If your future holds things completely to your liking, you will be happy. If your future holds new challenges, you will meet that challenge and it will lead you to something greater, and you will ultimately be happy about it.
There you go, your future will either bring you happiness or happiness! So paint that thought into every picture you have of your future. Imagine smooth relationships. Imagine great health. Imagine increased cravings for good nutrition and exercise. Imagine weight loss. Imagine love and appreciation with your teenager. Imagine meeting your soul mate. Imagine winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Imagine your boss appreciating you. Imagine writing your novel. Imagine spontaneous remission of any disease you have. Imagine discovering a cure for that disease to share with others. Imagine never running out of Cheetos. Imagine kissing in public. Imagine getting a new pet. Imagine winning the lottery. Imagine finding a quarter on the sidewalk. Imagine nothing being out of reach for you.
Imagine happiness from the moment you wake up to the moment you lie down to sleep. Why not! It’s your story, make it a good one. You know ultimately it is either going to turn out good or else it will turn out good!
So practice imagining the future perfectly to your liking. Write it down. It is easier to direct your thoughts when you are writing than when you are simply thinking. Use that. Write down stories about your future. Stories about money, relationships, parenting, health, great meals, vacations, and joy all around you!
Write it down and it will feel really, really, really, really great!
